Ejaad-Nama: We interrupt this program
Ejaad-Nama (Urdu: Letters of Invention). A fortnightly newsletter about Science, Electronics, Makers, DIY, and everything technical. We talk about lemons, acid batteries, and anything in between.
Big thanks for 7 new subscribers since last newsletter! Welcome and feel free to comment, criticize, contribute, call out and any other words you want to use :D

We interrupt this regularly scheduled program to bring you this special bulletin.
I have been on vacation for the last couple of weeks in my homeland spending precious time with my family and doing geeky activities with my nephews. Hence, the lack of sequential hex numbering of issues that you are accustomed to.
Last time, I shared contributions from my readers and my regular contributors to my newsletter. A lot of text, not much of pictures. I was not able to put my writing shoes on ( is there a such thing???) in the last weeks. So you are going to get a lot of pictures and some picture captions of the geeky activities me, my partner, and my regular newsletter authors have been up to :).
Slo-Mo video of a Twin Bell clock
Below is a GIF of slo-mo I captured while fixing my nephews Alarm clock. I like how the hammer action is created by an eccentric disc fixed on the motor. If you are not able to see the gif, here is the hi-res video.
Hand painted 3d printed planter pots by Nishant Singh
Nishant singh sent in his planter plot made out of cement from 3d printed molds in the last newsletter. He managed to finish the job with some finesse by hand painting them and using them as candle holders for Diwali Festival.
Its a Slippery Soap by Sadaf Hayat
Sadaf got together with her nephew and all the ingredients to make some soap at home. What better way to get kids to wash their hands regularly in these times. Results look fun and impressive.
A free of cost high school with a legacy by Asif Nadeem/Zaid Pirwani
I was invited by Mr Zaid Pirwani to visit a public government high school which provides free education to secondary (grade 8th and onwards) students. The school is housed in a 1876 building with facilities such as a lush green football ground, a rooftop tennis court, basketball court and cricket nets. Zaid is overseeing the construction of a fablab which I would love to visit. The school also boasts a british colonial-esque library with cozy reading areas.
Thats all folks for this time. I hope you enjoyed the special bulletin.
Next time, we would be back with the usual programming.
Thanks a lot to all the people who shared their work, or those who I had asked the permission to use their pictures :D If you would like to send in your projects and hacks to be part of the newsletter, please do comment below, or email me: a.nadeem89@gmail.com.
